What's a co-op?

A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and or cultural needs.

What do we value?

Citizen's Oil Co-op is based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. In the tradition of its founders, co-operative members are encouraged to believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.

What are our principles?

These are the guidelines by which we put our values into practice.

  1. Voluntary and Open Membership
    Citizen's Oil Co-op is open to all persons able to use our services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, racial, super drol political or religious discrimination.
  2. Education and Information
    The Co-op provides education and information to our members to empower them to make the best possible choice for the services they are looking to utilize in the areas of heat and utilities.
  3. Concern for Community
    The Co-op works for the sustainable development of their communities through policies and programs that help to save individuals money and support the communities in which they live.
